1. How much do you charge for your services?
Detailed pricing information is provided for each service on the corresponding web page. For example, for pricing information on PC repair, select the PC Repair option from the menu on the left hand side.

2. Is there any call out fees or travelling time to pay for?
Yes. All bookings are subject to a £10 call out fee to cover fuel and travel time.

3. What happens if the engineer cannot repair my computer?
Upstream Computer Services operates a No-Fix-No-Fee policy. This means that if we cannot fix the computer, you do not pay anything apart from the call-out fee.

Conditions of No-Fix-No-Fee policy
No charge is made to you the customer, if the engineer does not have the required technical skills or tools to repair the computer.

You will be charged for the engineers time if:

  • The engineer is able to fix the problem at hand, but is prevented from doing so because the customer cannot provide any necessary software product keys, CD-ROMs or any other required material.
  • The engineer is able to fix the problem at hand, but is asked not to do so by the customer.

4. Do you service laptop computers?
Yes. We repair software related issues and perform other services such as maintenance, virus removal etc. We do not repair any hardware related issues.

5. Do you repair printers?
We repair software related issues, driver problems and installation problems. We do not repair printer hardware failures.

6. Do you repair monitors?
We repair software related issues, driver problems and installation problems. We do not repair any monitor hardware failures.

7. Is it possible to limit the time spent working on my computer?
Yes. You can limit the number of hours labour to one hour. We will try our best to complete all work within the timescale you set.

8. If a PC repair takes less than one hour, do I have to pay for a full hour's labour?
Yes. The minimum charge is for one hour's labour at £10.00 and the £10.00 call-out fee.

9. How much does a website cost?
As individual websites can vary greatly, it is not possible to define a development cost until we have been given your specific requirements. Our pricing is very competitive so please contact us for a free quotation.

10. Do you redesign existing websites?
Yes. We can redesign your existing website to your new requirements.

11. How can I keep my website up-to-date?
We offer a website maintenance service. The service works on a pay-per-update basis. Alternatively, if the content of your website is expected to change regularly, you can have a Content Management System designed specifically for your needs.

12. What is a Content Management System?
A Content Management System or CMS is a user friendly system that allows a website to be updated without technical expertise. Your CMS is accessed via your web browser.

13. Do Content Management Systems add to the cost of a website?
Yes. Development of a tailor made CMS is very time consuming, therefore increasing the overall cost of a website. A CMS is only necessary if your website needs to be updated regularly.

14. Do you charge for alterations to the website design once it's finished?
Once the website has been finished and it's design approved by the customer, future alterations are charged for.

15. Do you write the website content?
No. It is the customer's responsibility to provide us with the website content.

16. I want to purchase one of your hosting packages. Do I have to purchase a domain from you?
Yes. We do not provide a domain transfer service. Therefore a domain must be purchased from us to enable creation of the hosting account.

17. Which methods of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, cheques and online payments via PayPal. PayPal accepts all major/credit debit cards, and is quick and easy to use.

18. What is the best way to get in contact with you?
The most efficient method of contacting us is via Email. If you wish to contact us via telephone and your call is not answered, please leave a message.
